Carlos Peralez is a professional engineer and lifelong violinist whose journey blends technical precision with artistic passion. Picking up the violin at age 10—originally just to skip class—he found an unexpected refuge in music that would sustain him through the rigors of engineering school and beyond. For over 40 years, Carlos has performed with the Valley Symphony Orchestra, continuing to play the same violin handpicked for him in 1978 by his mentor, Kurt Rehm. Whether sharing the stage with his wife or cheering on his All-State daughter, music remains central to his life. Carlos believes you don’t have to major in music to keep it alive—and his story proves that a musical heart and an engineering mind can coexist in perfect harmony.
